I finally got “Cravings” and read the story in there by LKH. It was..wonderful. It’s titled “Blood upon my lips”. I finished it in about an hour, as it was only eighty pages long. I think I read it three times over in that time period though before I could finally put it down. The scenes were just so wonderfully written, absorbing and captivating, that I wanted to strangle someone when it ended. The only drawback that I found in the short story was that it ended. I loved it. Thank the gods that she came back so beautifully after writing Cerulean Sins. I didn’t like that book as much as all the others because her scenes weren’t as detailed. I like to be able to see the people in my head and forget everything around me. Her short story did exactly that. The story was actually scenes from “Incubus Dreams”, if anyone didn’t know. This means that I should love “Incubus Dreams”. Ah. I am still tingling from reading the intricate detail and suspense that the scenes created. I don’t want to say much about the content because it should just be read. I was so amazingly happy after reading. Some people were saying that LKH should have put other scenes in “Cravings”. I’ll say this about the plot, it involved the men in her life and how she is finally put to awareness on how she treats Nathaniel and Damian. Nathaniel was priceless, with his moods, and what he says. Jason was hilarious, yet sober and showing more of his intuitiveness. Damian gets a little possessive and jealous. Micah actually forms his own opinion and had me gaping for a full minute. I just loved it. I’m going to read it again and again until “Incubus Dreams” comes out. I definitely think the book is going to be more about Nathaniel and Damian though, their histories, emotions, and needs. I started to cry in one particular scene with Nathaniel. I want to cuddle him. Sigh. Okay, I’ll stop. I was just so happy that I needed to put it up here. I urge anyone that reads the exerpt to form their own opinion, not listen to the mass that seems determined to undermine the series.
