Okay this was posted on another board-- I won't name it here but it is about the sales figures and placement of LKH's books.
The arugement is that the LKH books are taking a nose dive-- Which is not the case. Check it out behind tags
The simple fact is that we don't know the reason why SBM is not going to be released in HC in the UK.
You also claimed that ID wouldn't (If you didn't but that was the impression that I got) be out in UK either. Not only is it listed on Amazon's website but it gives a UK publisher and a UK ISBM number that is different format he US one.
Could it be that the publisher decided to wait until the paperback edition to come out? Not all books are sent to hard cover. The Merry books have a different publisher than the AB books.
There could be a whole host of reason why SBM didn't get published in HC in the UK.
Orbit is doing the UK release of ID
I know we had this discussion before but Amazon UK still ranks Seduced by Moonlight as a popular
Amazon.co.uk Sales Rank: 488
It's still ranked 488 in a selection over a millions of books. No we don't know how many books are sold today. But this is a better rating then it had when if first came out in the United sates. (I think it was right around the number I don't have the numbers - I would have to find the file.)
The US rating in the United States are not that high and rates at: Amazon.com Sales Rank: 3,564 -- which is to be expected because people can walk into books stores and buy the book. (BTW-this book is still in on the Best Sellers section in my favorite B&N-When DID is down and back in the Mystery section.)
Now take a look at Divided in Death By JD Robb which has as large as following as AB (More books 19+ in all)This book was also released right around the same time and the sales rank is Amazon.com Sales Rank: 4,889
Now-- You told me these numbers don't mean anything but DID did stay on the Best sellers list the same amount of weeks as the SBM-- but SBM always out did DID in sales ranking and New York Best Sellers list. It dropped off the list sooner than SBM by a week.
The reason why I compared the two books is that I wanted to take another popular author that we could compare to. SBM is holding it's own.
Now as far as the other books --
What number did the earlier series come in at? Do we know?
I don't think it's fair to say that NIC was a failure because it came in at number five and CS at number 12. (Publisher don't give raw numbers out) We also have to see what other books where released at the same time. It's not just the number of units it's other things that are factors as well.
I am not calling you out, because you were right, SBM is not out in the UK as a UK published book but readers can get it. Online orders are still strong and rate high on Amazon and the other sites I was on.
As for Incubus Dreams in pre-order status Incubus Dreams is rated as follows:Amazon.com Sales Rank: 451 -- Which a very strong placing for a book that can't be shipped.
No matter what-- Anita Blake is still a Genre based book -- It's in Sci-Fi in Borders and Barnes &Nobel in the United States.
All the sites that have the New York Times Best Sellers only have the top ten-I found another site that has the top 150 from USA today Best sellers.

I don't think the above numbers are showing a fall off in sales. They seem to be staying constant and strong.
